FACE - Application of cloud and edge computing for efficient AI-supported ECG analyses

Duration of the project: May 2024 - December 2026

The project "Research on the application of cloud and edge computing for efficient AI-supported ECG analyses - FACE" aims to use the advantages of edge and cloud computing to optimise the analysis of ECG recordings using artificial intelligence (AI).

By diagnosing potentially life-threatening arrhythmias at an early stage, this project is making a significant contribution to improving digital healthcare. The innovative approach combines edge and cloud computing to enable precise analysis of ECG data using machine learning in the existing care system. This leads to a sensible utilisation of computing capacities and ensures comprehensible analysis results.

A particular focus is on the interoperability of AI analysis and information flows, which is ensured through the use of manufacturer-independent, standardised formats. FACE builds on existing technologies and processes, but uses innovative, scalable approaches to enable efficient diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias and thus contribute to improved healthcare.
